March 02, 2002Can't Break His StrideRemember that 1983 hit, "Break My Stride," by Matthew Wilder? Very bubble-gummy, but tolerable. Wonder whatever happened to him? Wouldja believe that he produced No Doubt's mega-hit "Tragic Kingdom?" And speaking of trivia and music stars, did you know that the mother of Michael Nesmith, of Monkees fame, invented White-Out? For you younger readers, that's a white fluid that was used to correct typing errors, before the advent of word processors & PCs. That bit of trivia bubbled to the top of my head after hearing that Annessa is most like Davy Jones, of all the Monkees. Ms. Nesmith turned the White-Out success into a profitable business, eventually selling the company for over $47 million dollars. And, of course, you know that the Monkees are infinitely better than the Beatles. IMNSHO. Posted at March 2, 2002 12:53 PMCOMMENTS!
And did you know that Matthew Wilder, in addition to helping No Doubt break out, had a role in Mulan, Disney's hit? Not only that, but he composed the music, earning an Oscar nomination in the process. And, the man who invented post-it notes was fired for inventing them? He was trying to invent another type of glue, and it wouldn't stick long enough, so they gave him the boot, he took his idea to 3M, and the rest is history. The Pre-Fab Four did make some good sounding music, as well as having some stuff with meaning behind it, and after a while, they even learned how to play their own instruments. Hey man...sorry I missed the party. Posted by: yasmin at May 1, 2006 01:09 AMFollow your dreams, you can reach your goals. roulette tip Posted by: derek at May 17, 2006 07:21 AMPost a comment
