March 28, 2003Sick, Sick, SickThe Command Post linked an outrageous (not in the Lionel Ritchie sense) story about a Columbia University professor named Nicholas DeGenova; this "teacher"... ...was quoted as saying, "The only true heroes are those who find ways that help defeat the U.S. military. I personally would like to see a million Mogadishus." The audience, while silent at this remark, later applauded when De Genova said, "If we really believe that this war is criminal ... then we have to believe in the victory of the Iraqi people and the defeat of the U.S. war machine." Corroborating evidence found here and here. Would you be surprised to learn that De Genova is also anti-Israel? Back in April he stated that, "The heritage of the victims of the Holocaust belongs to the Palestinian people. The state of Israel has no claim to the heritage of the Holocaust."
You, gentle reader, have several options. You can, of course, ignore his claptrap and hatred. Or, you can do something that may be a bit juvenile, but may help a bit: go rate the Professor at "RateMyProfessor.com" -- you probably know what kind of "grades" to give him (current ratings here). You can contact him directly, too, at npd18 or phone . I don't recommend obscenity or rants...rather, just point out to him in a clear, calm manner exactly why you disagree with him.
