September 23, 2003Season PremiereTonight is the season premiere of "8 Simple Rules..." on ABC. Hadn't watched it last season, but will tonight. Bittersweet. In a similar vein, I'm somewhat surprised at the number and type of comments that my post about John Ritter has received. UPDATE: The show was pathetic. John Ritter's good humor and natural talent were visible, but the show was typical sitcom fare with few (if any) redeeming qualities. Posted by davidmsc at September 23, 2003 06:52 PMComments
Um, I don't agree. I was surprised at the strength of the cast in that show and that it actually was more about the kids than about the father. I don't think the show stands much of a chance, but the actors are good, and I'm willing to give the show a chance. A brief chance. You're being a little harsh. I agree completely. I have never watched that show, until last night, and only because John Ritter died. What a sad reason to watch. By the end of the show, I was thinking "I ditched Navy NCIS for THIS?" But then again, I am still in awe of how different Katie Segal looks from her roll in MWC. LOL
All in all, there was great sadness in the tribute at the end. It makes things so "final". Posted by: Asherah at September 24, 2003 10:26 AMEh, Enterprise was not all that great either, though I did like the sentiment displayed at the end. Posted by: Tiger at September 24, 2003 08:55 PMI watched it too. Didn't mind him or Katey Sagal too much although those kids, ugh! ....I wanted to ram their heads so far into their torsos they would have to drop their pants to say their lines. Why do network execs think that annoying = funny? Posted by: Donna at September 25, 2003 06:36 AMPost a comment
