Can You Hear Me Now?

Yay - I got my "big" present a few days early - a new Motorola C343 phone! And what a bargain: Normal retail: $199. With service plan at Verizon store: $79.99. At Radio Shack: $49.99.

With Radio Shack $25 instant rebate: $24.99. And no sales tax, of course (yay Montana!).

Very cool. I'll miss my old phone - she served me well, and had a slightly larger screen, making it easier to read e-mail, but her screen was starting to bleed/fade. But my new C343 with her beautiful color screen...(sigh)...it must be love. And, of course, once I brought it home, I had to test all the features...and promptly downloaded two ringtones: "New York, New York" and "Genius of Love."

I like Verizon. Been with 'em for nearly two years now, and have never had any problems with service. Verizon likes me, too, since I'm probably responsible for 87% of Verizon profits, with four (or five?) phones and a ridiculously generous -- but costly -- monthly plan (don't want to be caught off-guard with roaming charges or excess minutes, ya know - it's better to know way up front what the bill is going to be!).

Pretty great gift, for only $24.99. Probably the second best I've received in my adult life...the best gift that I've ever received is the AM/FM Shower Radio that my wife bought me four years ago. Every single day, I scrub myself clean to the sounds of Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme, Benny Goodman, and the like. I even accompany them, at times. Come to think of it, that radio was also purchased at Radio Shack. Does this make me a geek?
