June 21, 2004AmazingAnybody else in absolute awe of the Jeopardy champion Ken Jennings? He's won (IIRC) 15 games now, with winnings of $471,759. Damn. I usually figure that I can beat roughly 75-80% of all Jeopardy contestants -- but definitely not this guy -- he's incredible. The new standard in quiz-shows contestants. I last tuned into Jeopardy when he had won his 6th game....I didn't know he was STILL on there! Sometimes my work schedule doesn't allow me to watch everyday but I do watch it when I am able. Yes, I am in awe of him. I actually tried out for Jeopardy twice but couldn't get past the written test they give. If you ever have the opportunity to take that test, believe me, it will humble you. I then watched him one evening on Jeopardy and enjoyed seeing how he would buzz in, not yet knowing the answer, and sometimes he would just say, "I don't know." In spite of his wrongs answers though, the other two contestants were far behind, struggling to stay positive, while he had over $6,000. I guess that's what happens when you spend your childhood watching gameshows.
