Very brief narrative bio
CV/resume
I love the music, movies, and style of Frank
Sinatra.
I love to read - magazines always, books
often.
I think the picture of the cow jumping
over the moon (to your left) is the cutest picture ever.
My favorite authors are Ayn
Rand, Lawrence
Sanders, Piers Anthony.
My favorite magazines are Brill's
Content, Newsweek, Reason,
PC
Magazine, Fast Company, Wired,
and Utne Reader.
I despise alcohol (taste, effects, etc)
and will not consume it
in any form (no, not even cake).
I think San
Francisco is the most beautiful city on earth. I love Enid,
Oklahoma, too.
I am an atheist
and believe any organized religion (not belief, per se) to be
little more than a
cult. (To
my non-atheist friends, please do not be offended by this statement; it does
nothing to diminish the value that I place on our friendship. Besides, I'm
sure that you believe my "belief" (atheism) to be wrong, misguided, or
perhaps even evil, so isn't it fair that I should be afforded the same opinion
about YOUR beliefs? Let's let mutual respect govern our actions.)
I proudly serve as a healthcare
administrator in the U.S. Air Force, and believe
service is a great way to express commitment to American principles &
values.
I love to watch television, particularly
news channels (CNN, Fox
News, MSNBC).
I love to watch Jeopardy,
Match Game, Seinfeld, Just Shoot Me, The Simpsons, Duckman, and The Critic.
I predicted long ago that disco
& the 70s would become fashionable again (hooray!).
I smoke,
but feel increasingly disturbed by my inability to quit.
My favorite foods are steak,
cheeseburgers (plain), McDonald's french fries (but
I HATE McDonald's), and eggs.
I love Star
Trek (but not Deep Space Nine); mostly Classic & Next Gen, but plan to
watch Voyager someday.
I love old movies, particularly 1940s
& 1950s musicals (Singin' In The Rain, etc).
I love listening to the radio. My
favorite program is the Norman Bates
Memorial Soundtrack Show.
My favorite restaurant is Chili's.
Thankfully, a new one recently opened near us.
I love coffee. Specifically,
coffee from dark,
shiny beans, primarily Espresso and French Roast.
I love bagels with cream cheese...but
rarely eat them anymore, since there isn't a Noah's
Bagels in Texas.
I don't like vegetables. At all.
Period. I do like certain fruits (apples, bananas), but rarely eat them.
I plan on purchasing these
books, or possibly receiving them as gifts
:-)
I am married to a beautiful,
smart, funny, wonderful woman and have two beautiful children.

OK, here's
the narrative stuff: Born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1966 to a
physician-father and nurse-mother. Have one "real" brother and
one "real" sister, along with one 1/2 brother, one ex-step-sister,
one-ex-step-brother, and one current stepsister and one current stepbrother. (My
father has been married five times). In
1973, my father joined the Air Force, thus setting a pattern in my life of picking up
stakes and moving cross-country every few years. So, in 1973, we moved to North
Florida; two years later, to Columbus, OH; one year later, to Bentwaters,
England; three years later, to Edwards, California; three years later, to
Spokane, Washington; one year later, to Choctaw, Oklahoma, and three years
later, to San Antonio, Texas. By this time, I had just graduated from
high-school and was working as a waiter at El Chico's restaurant. Although
I loved being a waiter, upon
turning 21, I realized that I had better do something a little more dramatic
than serving up chips & queso, so I enlisted in the Air Force. After basic
training, I was sent to Wichita Falls, Texas, to learn how to be a healthcare
management technician. Then I was assigned back in San Antonio for several
years, during which time I was fortunate enough to meet and marry the love of my
life. Two kids later, the Air Force moved us to Mountain View, California,
which was simply beautiful. While there, I completed my bachelor's degree
and subsequently applied and was accepted for a commission as an officer in the Air
Force. So, following more basic training, we were assigned to Enid,
Oklahoma, which we loved. After only 14 months, we had to move again, this
time back to San Antonio. After completing a year-and-a-half assignment,
we were offered the chance to be stationed in Italy...but after much excitement and
preparation, I was given a unique opportunity to attend school (Baylor
University) full-time for two years to earn my graduate degree in healthcare
administration. So, sadly, we had to abandon our Italy plans (for now), which
brings me to the here & now...as I am nearly finished with my year-long
classroom portion of the Baylor
program. Following that, I will serve a one-year residency at a large
Air Force Medical Center. More information as life develops...
