September 29, 2005Why Are Cows Funny?
Do any of you know why cows — and geese, and chickens, and pigeons, and such — make me laugh? What is it about them that is so amusingly whimsical? Yes, yes, sometimes it is the expressions on their faces, in a manner of speaking…and the sounds they make (think goose) are funny, but what else is it? Why do they make me laugh?

When a cow is stomping you in the dirt or covering you in unmentionable grass by-products you wouldn’t think they are very funny, that’s for sure.

Say David, thanks for your ealier welcome to blogerdom. I’ve always felt that as I watch horses and cows standing motionles on a hillside, looking amiless and oblivious, secretly they are discussing quanton theories and are deciphering the secrets of the universe between themselves.

Dave, I have had a family of 13 quail in my backyard many many times this year. If you want funny, watch them as they run all over the place, chasing each other for a better seed to eat. Trust me, you’ll be holding your sides and in tears in no time.

For me it’s the big round innocent eyes and the slow lethargic mosey of the cows and for the ducks and geese it would have to be the fast waddle of the lower body on those itty bitty short legs.

They go ‘Mooooooooooo’. That goes without explaining . . .
And geese, well, they just waddle their fat bodies around looking stupid a making a noise that more fits a baboon.

When cows laugh, does milk come out their noses?
