Yep, longer days in the summer and longer nights in the winter. Just wait till you live through one or two winters up there. My advice: very strong lights in the bathroom. Something about getting out of bed and getting ready to go to work with it still pitch dark, black as the inside of a cow NIGHT outside that makes waking up such a chore. glad you all made it safely.
