I’m somewhat of a sci-fi fan - not as much as I used to be many years ago, but still a fan to some degree. But one thing that absolutely ticks me off is when robots are given “emotions.” Any episode of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” that dealt with Data’s quest to be a real boy left me rolling my eyes. Please. Even “Futurama” gets Negative points from me because of the way-too-human like qualities of Bender and other robots. I love Bender in many ways, but emotions just don’t compute when it comes to robots. Now if Bender was a cyborg of sorts - robot body, human brain, or something like that - then “Futurama” would get a few more Credibility points.

“I am not programmed to respond in that area”. Guess that’s why the Harry Mudd episode where Norman the android and the entire android population just shut down because they couldn’t handle emotions or human ‘logic’ is one of my all time favorites. Now that’s how a robot should act. I agree: emotions are ok when it’s like General Grievous in Episode III.

Of course, if you confronted Bender with this, he’d tell you to bite his shiny metal ass.

I suspend all disbelief where Bender is concerned. After all, he exists in a world in which disembodied heads of current celebrities are still alive.
And I think he’d call you a meatbag, too.

Something else that bothers me is when the coyote can climb back up the cliff after he falls off it. . .he should be dead, for goodness sake! I mean he is always falling off a cliff or getting blown up by “Acme” products but he never dies!!!!! Sheesh!
C’mon fellers it’s TV. TV.
