Comments On: Old Time Religion
Ooooooh, you're gonna love my next post! It's going to be a review of The Passion! :) Posted by Allison at February 26, 2004 03:16 PMI don't think you should be worried about offending regular readers, David. I'm all for reading various viewpoints--including the ones I don't happen to agree with. I had a Passion-themed post ready to go earlier this week (I think my views are probably 180 degrees from your own), but, like you, I'm a bit sick of all the hype. Besides, focusing on meaninglessness, pop culture and banality are oh-so-much more fun. Posted by TL Hines at February 27, 2004 11:20 AMNo offense here. But as one of those weird religious people, I'm kind of happy to be bombarded with religion versus the secular tripe the media is usually filled with. ;D I used to be an atheist, until I stopped believing in the absence of God. :) I haven't seen The Passion yet, and frankly I'm loathe to. Violence-wise, I've heard it makes RESERVOIR DOGS look like THE COSBY SHOW. Posted by Jay Allen at February 27, 2004 05:59 PM
I dunno Dave, I listen to a lot of talk radio and watch the news channels--prolly not as much as you but yer neice and nephew pretty much control the remote so I know all about Spongebob and Dexter and YuGiOh--but I haven't seen "anti-gay lobbyists" injecting religion into the gay marriage debate.
Not trying to be funny but if you think about it, a gay man or woman DOES have the option to marry, they just have to marry someone of the opposite gender. Posted by Robert Ferrau at February 27, 2004 07:52 PMJay, there's more blood in the first Nightmare on Elm Street than in The Passion. People just don't like the subject of this movie.
