The food processor works great - it’s pureed before you even cook it! lol Just kidding. I just break it in half now that they’re bigger and then run over the cooked spaghetti with a pizza cutter. I enjoyed my shopping spree anyway! I love the ability to wrap it around my fork; it’s one of the may things I remember my father teaching to me as a little kid, and is one of the simple things I in turn taught my own daughter. If I’m feeling particularly nostalgic, I leave it whole. It’s just…..fun. None of us has ever dropped it in our laps, either. LOL. Barrilla makes a spaghetti that has little ridges in it for holding the sauce better. I find it’s actually kind of worthwhile. I made spaghetti just last night, ironically enough, and used it. There is one mystery, though. Why is it, that no matter HOW careful you are, you still manage to get that tiny little speck of sauce on your shirt? And it’s always in the middle. Even if you wear a napkin. Chaps my ass. LOL.

Though I doubt I’m any standard for what’s not weird. I dip my french fries in my chocolate milkshake. In fact, I was told that it was bad etiquette not to do this - it’s the reason that Italian restaurants provide a big spoon with every twirl-able pasta dish, no? I could be wrong, and it would be the first time. I’m loving the blog! Found you via DaveTepper.net I don’t know the exact reason for not breaking it in half, but I have always been a spoon twirler. I was told that you were suppose to twirl it in a spoon. Then years later I was told that was considered poor etiquette. I also heard there was a practical reason why you weren’t suppose to break the spaghetti in half . . . but I can’t recall the reason. Maybe someone else will come along who knows the answer.
