September 29, 2005Why Are Cows Funny?Do any of you know why cows — and geese, and chickens, and pigeons, and such — make me laugh? What is it about them that is so amusingly whimsical? Yes, yes, sometimes it is the expressions on their faces, in a manner of speaking…and the sounds they make (think goose) are funny, but what else is it? Why do they make me laugh? ChikinChicken’s can’t spell — and they are also, apparently, somewhat cannabalisitic. September 28, 2005Bone DryWow…I actually posted NOTHING yesterday…except for the brief modem-outage earlier this month, I can’t recall the last time that I posted NOTHING on any given day. I assure you, however, my feeble, pea-sized brain is working feverishly on some delicious, tasty new posts that are sure to titillate, fascinate, thrill, and amaze you! Any ideas what I’m working on…? PS - while you cogitate, you may want to visit TipMonkies, which offers some of the best tips and sites imaginable. Definitely a Daily Click. September 26, 2005Would You Believe…?Don Adams, best known as Maxwell Smart on “Get Smart,” has passed away at the age of 82. SpammersI’ve enabled the WordPress feature that requires approval by me before a first-time commenter can leave a comment…just got sick-n-tired of the casino-spammers. So if you’ve left comments here before, you should have no problem…but if you’re commenting for the first time, give me a few tics to approve your comment. BatmanCaught bits and pieces of “Batman & Robin” on cable the last few days, and I’ve come to realize that George Clooney’s take on Bruce Wayne & Batman is a perfect balancing act between the “Dark Knight” and the Adam West versions. He really does pull it off, with a brooding, dark look at times, and other times uttering campy lines with just a hint of a smirk. I may be the only person on earth who thinks that Clooney did a good job. September 25, 2005Wordy GoodnessAnother word that I really like: kibble. That goes into the “Words That Make Me Smile and/or Giggle” category, along with pigeon, fluffy, fexofenadine, goose, and…what else? Hm…drawing a blank…surely there are other words that elicit the same reaction, but I can’t think of any right now. September 24, 2005No Roll, No BounceWell darn. I’ve been looking forward for months for the roller-skating movie “Roll Bounce” to be released on September 23rd, and sure enough, it was released just as scheduled yesterday. Unfortunately, it is NOT PLAYING here in Great Falls. Dammit. We have a wonderful 10-screen movie theatre, but “Roll Bounce” didn’t make the cut. To illustrate my situation, I’ve modified a popular picture that may help you understand…
By the way, here’s something very cool: Fox is donating 10% of the weekend proceeds from the movie to hurricane relief. Phoenix BlazersWay back in the late 60s-early 70s, my father was in private practice in Phoenix, Arizona, and as a hobby he also was the president of a minor-league football team, the Phoenix Blazers. If anyone knows where I can get ANY souvenirs, paraphernalia, or such of the Blazers, please let me know — I’ll gladly pay to obtain same. September 23, 2005Three Cheers!Cheers: Big news over at Viking Zen’s place: she & McGyva became the proud parents of Baby Girl Zen (aka Snickerdoodle) a few days ago - wheeeee! Congrats to the whole family! Cheers: D.C. Thornton celebrated his blogs fourth birthday! Four blogging years roughly translates to about 40 human years, so it’s quite an occasion - go say hi! Cheers: One of our very own Big Sky Bloggers has been published: “Loving Miranda” by Teresa Bodwell. If you like Cowboys + Romance, you should probably check it out. September 22, 2005Write OnI saw this wacky little thingie over at Samantha’s and just had to get one of my own…go ahead and scrawl some graffiti on my wall! Which reminds me…anyone else remember how the movie “Breakin’” began, with the spray-painted graffiti? (more…) Does Not Compute
I’m somewhat of a sci-fi fan - not as much as I used to be many years ago, but still a fan to some degree. But one thing that absolutely ticks me off is when robots are given “emotions.” Any episode of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” that dealt with Data’s quest to be a real boy left me rolling my eyes. Please. Even “Futurama” gets Negative points from me because of the way-too-human like qualities of Bender and other robots. I love Bender in many ways, but emotions just don’t compute when it comes to robots. Now if Bender was a cyborg of sorts - robot body, human brain, or something like that - then “Futurama” would get a few more Credibility points. September 21, 2005Missing BernieAm I the only person who kinda sorta wishes that President Bush had appointed Bernard Kerik as the chief of FEMA when Brown stepped down? September 20, 2005One YearWow — can you believe that it’s already been one whole year since the lovely Miss Bayou (Miz B to me!) first introduced herself to the ‘Sphere? Happy birthday, girl!
