BUMP: I remain absolutely amazed at the amount of traffic that I get from people looking for Sabine Ehrenfeld. She is to my site what Jill Wagner is to Costa’s Population Statistic.
UPDATE: thanks to YouTube, you can now see one of Sabine’s commercials anytime!
Very pretty lady in the Overstock.com advertisements; I don’t find her annoying, as some do (possibly NSFW text), but her beauty won’t convince me to shop at Overstock.com. I’ll admit to not looking away from the TV when her commercial airs, though. She’s got quite a fan-base. So - what do BLTB readers think of Sabine?
media overstock Random sabine ehrenfeld the big o

I think any advertisement that isn’t clear about what it’s selling isn’t good. Is she promoting Oprah? Overstock? The big O?
The only thing you can be certain of is the last one in that list. This commercial is about sex, nothing more. Sure, sex sells but it also lowers the credibility of the seller. Overstock went with the easiest and most overused tactic. No creativity there.

Of course they used sex! Sex is as primal as it gets…the one instinctively common link between all of us. It’s perfectly clear what they’re selling to me. The crap they couldn’t get rid of or sell to a retailer. It’s essentially a huge blue light special with an attractive woman pushing the button.
February 26th, 2005 at 2:01 pm
I dunno. She’s attractive enough, but I’m into women and she does nothing but annoy me… it’s the way she talks. Like she’s trying way to hard or something.
It’s funny but sex is the last thing I think about when I see these commercials even though it’s obvious that’s what she’s pitching. Or something.
February 26th, 2005 at 3:18 pm
Personally I don’t like the one commercial where she is trying to be sexy by letting her hair down, but then the hair hardly moves at all. Anyway, using sex to sell is an old ploy, but I think that they are missing the target audience, women are the main shoppers for the most part, and yet they are using a woman in the ads?? Maybe they need to try one with a good looking male…
February 26th, 2005 at 8:13 pm
There’s a radio spot for this fondue restaurant here called “The melting pot”. The woman on the ads uses the same seductive voice to say it’s a good date place that she uses to say it’s a good place to go with co-workers or bring your family. It sounds rather creepy to use what amounts to an Herbal Essence “organic experience” voice when you’re talking about someone taking their co-workers or kids out. Ew.

bottom line, the girl on the commerial is f**kin’ hot.
she is drop dead, awesome.
August 1st, 2005 at 3:30 pm
funny. looks like women will hate anybody with ovaries. and men will love anybody with ovaries. almost.
August 12th, 2005 at 10:52 pm
it’s all about the o. look at the covers of men’s magazines and the covers of women’s magazines and you’ll see the demographic doesn’t change the delivery. all about the o. she’s splendid. don’t hate.
August 13th, 2005 at 8:10 am
she’s pretty but does not convince me to shop at the o.

Sabine has that intriguing “girl-next-door” look - - like the girl you’d be proud to take home to meet your folks. Check her out here:

That’s b.s. overstock did great with her, not Geico or anything but she’s either sexy enough or annoying (I never thought of that until seeing these blogs) enough to make us talk about it. Anyhow, I stumbled here searching for pics. I want a couple leggy shots, anyone?
December 11th, 2005 at 6:03 am
Newsflash guys: I am a woman and I’m totally SMITTEN with Sabine. I’ve got all her commericals on my hard drive except the XXX-mas one along with a zillion pictures of her (God I love her in the glasses photo…drool…)
She is a Goddess. Oh please let her be bisexual???
December 11th, 2005 at 1:03 pm
That is about the most beautiful, sexy and attractive woman I’ve ever laid eyes on. She forced me to overstock.com to see who she is. (I haven’t bought anything there, yet, though I would if she asked me to)
December 17th, 2005 at 11:45 am
OK gang, have you seen her Holiday commerical? Incredable, they have been able to take her from incredable to irrisistable. Like most of you said I can’t get Sabine out of my mind. Shes got this hipnotic toneal quality about her voice. Sex can’t discribe her ad, it’s not that at all. It brings out the inner beauty of this woman, she radiates her beauty and her soul. Have you ever seen a woman who radiates her beauty? Well check the commericals of Sabine. It’s not a prideful self centered I’m better than anyone look. All in all Sabines incredable and someone I hope to see more of. Shes done great for the O and Overstock has done great in picking this German born Beauty. For those of you who didn’t know she moved over here in 1980. See ya

She looks great in the pics you posted (I don’t get TV at home and have not seen the ads.)
From what I’ve seen, it’s a toss-up between Sabine and the woman in the T-Mobile print ads.

Women seem threatend by our O girl. Maybe they are jealous? The more I read about her the more I am taken with her - and the more they must hate her.
I would not shop at the big O but love the commercials and actaully remember what they are selling -that’s more than I can say about 90% of the commercials out there.

O O O my, I’m so relieved to know that I’m not the only one who finds this lady so freakin hot! I was just sitting here on the web thinking about “the overstock lady” so I found her and then I found this blog. I must say she’s one of the most attractive women I’ve ever seen. She just has that pure hot/cute/perfect wife look and voice. Dang it. Does anyone have her number ? ok .. I’m out .. e-mail me if you can get her e-mail or number .. anything !!!!!!!!

Alot of people complain that overstock.com by using MRS. Ehrenfeld as a spokesperson, and having her say “It’s all about the ‘O’”, is using sex to sell (Ok, Ok, the term is sexual in nature-granted), but what has Sabine done that is so very sexual? As far as my memory serves me, shes never done anything overtly sexual or suggestive on any of the commercials…’cept for being drop-dead gorgeous of course. I hate her husband..
July 29th, 2006 at 5:22 pm
She does plenty- listen to the pitch of her voice, the angle of her head, the emphasis on certain, words, lingering touches and poses. The Overstock people use her beauty with their lame tie-in (”It’s all about the “O”- duhb, the “O” in Overstock, hit us in the head again, we don’t get it).
She’s definitely attractive, but I hate the ads and I think she has a stiff delivery in most of them. It seems like she got more comfortable in the later ads.
July 30th, 2006 at 9:26 am
Wow. I haven’t seen it this vocal here in awhile, David. I do have to admit, Sabine is a bit of a “milf” and that what helps to sell Overstock to consumers. She feels safe enough to adult females, yet attracts adult men along. I know I have a thing for her.
God, I’m so sad when I have a crush on an spokesperson…
July 30th, 2006 at 10:50 pm
Sam, that was brilliant. She didn’t come off as “Milf” to me, but now that you mention it…
August 2nd, 2006 at 9:31 pm
Every once in awhile I’ll be humming Jingle Bells, even in July, still thinking of that beautiful girl and beautiful voice I saw and heard on TV last Christmastime, Finally today I saw her on a commercial on CNN for Overstock.com and made an inquiry on Ask as to who this incredible beauty was.
Voila! Sabine Ehrenfeld! Oh God, let her be in movies and do CDs. I love you, Sabine!
September 27th, 2006 at 12:25 am
She is slightly above average in looks, but hsa a great personality -is she sexy, eh- I guess . . .
September 28th, 2006 at 2:58 pm
She’s almost as perfect as Sara Evans! The look similar and that’s mostly because that is my type. She’s very milf hot and the fact that she’s a Mom and normal - non tattooed & pierced - and HOT is great. I just wish she would work more and have some racier photos. But I guess she won’t be doing that and that is what keeps her a classy Mom hottie.
Oh yea, as for the “Big O” ads. She isn’t using sex. She’s using sexuality. Two different things all together. The Coors lt girls used sex in the famous “fountain wrestling” ad. She is actually relating to the wives in my neighborhood perfectly. The women in my hood are just like her. We have an amazing array of yummy mommies in the area and the ones that I know (and have had conversations about it with) like the ad.
November 10th, 2006 at 11:16 am Actually. . .Big O notation or Big Oh notation, and also Landau notation or asymptotic notation, is a mathematical notation used to describe the asymptotic behavior of functions. Its purpose is to characterize a function’s behavior for very large (or very small) inputs in a simple but rigorous way that enables comparison to other functions. More precisely, the symbol O is used to describe an asymptotic upper bound for the magnitude of a function in terms of another, usually simpler, function. There are also other symbols o, Ω, ω, and Θ for various other upper, lower, and tight bounds. It has two main areas of application: in mathematics, it is usually used to characterize the residual term of a truncated infinite series, especially an asymptotic series, and in computer science, it is useful in the analysis of the complexity of algorithms.
Informally, the O notation is commonly employed to describe an asymptotic tight bound, but tight bounds are more formally and precisely denoted by the Θ (capital theta) symbol as described below.
It was first introduced by German number theorist Paul Bachmann in 1894, in the second volume of his book Analytische Zahlentheorie (”analytic number theory”), the first volume of which (not yet containing big O notation) came out in 1892. The notation was popularized in the work of another German number theorist Edmund Landau, hence it is sometimes called a Landau symbol. The big-O, standing for “order of”, was originally a capital omicron; today the capital letter O is also used, but never the digit zero.
