Wanna help spread the word about my move to the new blog site? Easy as 1-2-3! Just use this handy graphic!

Visit Dave's NEW Blog! | Visit Dave's NEW Blog!

See that nifty little graphic above? Now you can have your very own! Just Copy the code below, and then create a new entry on your blog, and then Paste the code into your new blog entry. Voila! Instant button and link to my new blog location!

And anyone who helps me out by using this cute graphic and link - very much appreciated. Seriously.

And I’d like to send a huge shout-out to long-time reader Rob Sama, who is the first blog-buddy to admit - publicly - that he has updated his feed reader to reflect my move. MORE: thanks to the lovely Viking Zen and Renee, and fellow Montana blogger Doug Dodge for making the switch, too!

And by the way - several people have wondered, over the seven plus years of Better Living Thru Blogging, exactly what “davidmsc” means. Well…at the time I began using “davidmsc” as my e-mail prefix, circa 1997, I had recently been commissioned as a Medical Service Corps officer in the US Air Force. Medical Service Corps = M.S.C. = MSC. Hence, davidmsc. Admittedly, it wasn’t the smartest choice for a domain name, but I had no idea that it would become my online identity and “brand name.”

And so it is only fitting that I move away from “davidmsc” now, as I retired from the Air Force several weeks ago and am no longer an MSC officer.

Any other questions?

After more than seven years here at www.davidmsc.com, the time has come…yep, I’m moving!

More details coming soon, but for now, you can begin checking out my latest dreck over at David In Great Falls. I’m going to import a few entries from here at BLTB, but for now it’s pretty sparse. For now.

Sites We Like

UPDATE: several reasons for this…first, I have wanted to dump the host of this site (Cedant) for years - the services offered just don’t compare with more “modern” hosts such as GoDaddy and Host Matters. Second, it will save me the $18.95 per month that I’ve been spending on Cedant, when for $11/month I’m already hosting GreaterFalls.com with Host Matters, and it doesn’t cost me anything more to add another blog over there. And third, in my post-military life, I’m trying really hard to simplify lots of things - like my sites.

One favor: can you update your bookmarks and/or your subscriptions to reflect the new location? You can subscribe in one of two ways:

Much obliged, folks. Thanks for everything here at Better Living Thru Blogging!

link to: BLAST FROM THE PAST: Brokeback Humor

Now that “Brokeback Mountain” has been deemed a critical success, plans are underway to develop a sequel involving lesbian cowgirls: “Archback Mountain.”

OK, that’s my attempt at topical humor…and I did get a sanity-check from Lachlan who assured me that it would not be construed as offensive.

But if you want to see something really humourous, you’ve got to check out the preview for “Brokeback To The Future” over at Wizbang Pop. I’ll never think of the phrase “flux capacitor” in the same way.

How many of you are excited about the release of “Cloverfield?” It sure does seem intriguing, and will probably get me into the theater. I don’t recall seeing a “monster” movie generate so much buzz since…um…never. So what can we expect? Well, there are 8 things that “Cloverfield” won’t be, and there are 10 reasons why “Cloverfield” lives up to the hype. So which will it be?

Me, I’m just hoping that the movie doesn’t wind up being the “Blair Witch Monster” — in other words, sucky and stupid and wanting your money back because nothing scary, dramatic, or interesting occurs, despite assurances to the contrary.

link to: “Sexpert” Featured on FNC

Filed Under:, , by on 10 Jan 2008

I love Fox News Channel. Seriously. If I had to guess the percentages, I’d say that my cable news watching is approximately 70% Fox News, 20% MSNBC, and 10% CNN. But Fox News, sadly, is often all too eager to jump in the tabloid muck - whenever there is breaking news about a missing blonde lady, or “London Marriott” or some other slutty pop-tart, FNC is just as bad as any other 24-hours news outlet. But seeing this on the FNC website tonight has got to be the lowest that I’ve ever seen them fall:

sexpert on fnc

Jeez. With all of the stuff going on the world, they have to highlight a “sexpert” on their main page? And with the topic of how a guy can get a gal in the sack: “Five Ways to Get Her Into Bed”? Look, I know that there needs to be room for the “lighter side” of the news, and human interest stuff, and there’s going to be some celebrity crap…but this? Absolutely pathetic.
UPDATE: against my better judgment - but only because Rob asked - here’s the link!
